If all right with Dave would anyone be interested in putting together a list of boat launches for NB as POI files that anyone could download (Garmin) with a description of the launch, IE: spacious launch area, narrow concrete launch surrounded by soft bottom, no dock at sight, easy close parking. Seasonal gas at Irving marina. That would be my rough description of the public launch in Oromocto...

Just a thought...

Good idea!
Even better would be lake depths/safe channels to follow, etc...

I realize this is old but I made a quick Google map with a bunch of boat launches on it. It is public an anyone can add to it. I think it is a good start and if everyone would take a few minutes to add to it we could have a very good list that could lead to a GPS file. I added a lot of coastal ones and only a few inland ones that I know about as they are harder to spot on the map. It would be awesome to get some for the Saint John River system and the nearby lakes. I am willing to make the POI file and keep a database in excel of any other comments associated which each launch.

If you zoom in on the corner of Gordon and St. James streets in Hampton, you'll see a beautiful boat launch there.
Don't forget Meanans Cove in Quispamsis, just before the ferry.

In Richibucto, a little north there's one at the end of the Ch. Pointe-de-L'├ęglise Rd. Once you spot the road, it continues to the left a ways. where it seems to stick out into the water, that's a wharf with a public boat launch. If ever striper fishing opens up there, that's a boat launch you'll want to know about.

There's also one in Rexton on River Street (off Main Street) at that second point. But you have to pay a few bucks to use it at the Irving, accross the bridge.

In Rothesay, there's one at the end of Cameron Rd on the left, just before it makes a sharp turn to the right. There's also one at the Renforth Wharf, but I'm not sure if there's a fee for that one or not. It's on James Renforth Drive (just before Fox Farm Rd off Rothesay Rd). As James R. rd turns left as you're heading towards the water, continue straight and the wharf is there on the map. That shaded road that goes to the right a little is where the boat house or whatever it's called is.

Oops, never knew I had to pay to use that one in Rexton. I owe someone some money!
There is a lauch as well at Camper's Cove in Coles Island (other side of the island actually) that also charges a small fee. Nice launch though with bathrooms and picnic tables.

Excellent added those ones as well. I have stayed at Campers cove for hunting, didn't notice the boat launch, I will add it. Probably one at TNT as well.

I made it public and thought anyone could add to it. I can share "collaboration" with people so maybe I have to send you an invite to be able to add to it. The settings say anyone can edit it. Let me know if you can or can't. I don't mind adding people to it.

I added a few more for you Ken.
This is a GREAT idea. I would love to see someone add a bunch of boat launches in the general Saint John area. I would love to explore the area.

Rob.

Sweet, it is looking good, great info to have. Up to 74 already. Once we get enough I will make a POI file for people to download and load on their GPS.

The problem I have is locating them on Google maps, they can be hidden or hard to see from space. Any details to help me mark them would be great. :)
