Hi,

I'm a newcomer on the forum. My family and I are going to visit the Moncton/Shediac area from july 15th to 23rd (We rent a waterfront cottage in Cocagne). I have fished strippers in the "Baie des chaleurs", Gaspésie using that technique and we had a great time! I was wondering if I could enjoy a similar fishing experience in NB? We have no boat, but we are equipped for surfcasting.

Thanks in advance for your insights!

Pascal

Hi pascal There is alot of strippers along the coast of cocagne pretty much anywhere in the northumberland strait... I recommend you fish from just before sunset and after. Try using maqueral as bait. If you want you can PM me I know the waters of the area pretty well and could tell you if you would likely catch some right at your waterfront if not i could point you in a good direction.

Cheers

Thanks for your help I sent you a PM. Glad to know we might catch some near our cottage location. I normally Watch for tides after Sunset and use baby mackerel or sandeel soft plastics lures. I think it's not gotta be any different from my previous experience!

thanks again!
