_{Still some good ice and fishing condtions to be had of you arent after smelt in tidal water, Monty and I fished Maquapit today and there was close to 3 feet of ice, 1ft being frozen slush and 2 feet of hard clear ice. There was very little snow on it and was really good going, pickerel have really turned on, we fished fairly shallow water and landed an easy 30 , i lost quite a few i think the count was 4 in a row on my jigging rod that i lost lol, although tmost were lacking in the size department they kept us busy all day running for flags, we did manage to land one nice fat 23.5 incher outta the bunch, and a couple chunky 20`s but most were your typical 18 inch pickerel, discovered a new secret weapon that seem to outfish the minnows , atleast for jigging anyways}
